Product Description

The Atlantic Paranormal Society, also known as T.A.P.S., is the brainchild of two plumbers by day, paranormal investigators by night: Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson. Their hair-raising investigations, fueled by their unique abilities and a healthy dose of scientific method, have made them the subject of a hit TV show: the SCI FI Channel's Ghost Hunters.

Now their experiences are in print for the first time, as Jason and Grant recount for us, with the help of veteran author Michael Jan Friedman, the stories of some of their most memorable investigations. The men and women of T.A.P.S. pursue ghosts and other supernatural phenomena with the most sophisticated scientific equipment available -- from thermal-imaging cameras to electromagnetic-field recorders to digital thermometers -- and the results may surprise you. Featuring both cases depicted on Ghost Hunters and earlier T.A.P.S. adventures never told before now, this funny, fascinating, frightening collection will challenge everything you thought you knew about the spirit world.

Great for fans

Review by NV Judy, 2010-07-12

If you are a Ghost Hunter fan, this is a very cool recap of some of their cases, and several more that you won't see on any of the shows. They have really dealt with more severe cases that I was aware of. It is a very easy read, and well explained.

Don't Read if you've seen Ghost Hunters

Review by Samuel Moore, 2010-06-02

I found myself enjoying the first third of this book, in which Jason Hawes recounts 18 investigations before the start of GHOST HUNTERS. We get some really creepy and interesting stories from this period in TAPS, like one about a haunted apartment complex. Theses are short and spooky stories. However after page 92 all that is left is investigations from their show aren't spooky, creepy or interesting at all, if fact some of them are rather boring. In fact one of the most annoying points of the book is the parts written by Grant Wilson, the other founder of TAPS, which are these paragraphs at the end of each story labeled "Grant's Take" which are basically Grant going "Yea, what he said"

Overall the book is not worth the fifteen bucks. I suggest you skip this one and read their second book SEEKING SPIRITS which is far better as the are all new investigations from before GHOST HUNTERS

Rehash of several episodes, very little new information.

Review by R. Stagel, 2010-05-17

I am very disapointed in this book as all it does is go over several of the episodes from the hit tv series. I would have to say is that most people who purchase this this book have watched the series, we do not need a word by word rehash. I only learned a few new things that happened behind the scenes in this book which I have to admit were very interesting but they could have added that in the bonus footage of the DVDs. I also think it misleads people by the title that you can learn to ghost hunt from the book, it just gives a few pieces of advice at the end.

The reason I rated this a 1 star is because I also did not enjoy all the Brian Harnois bashing, we already saw that in the tv series there was no need to repeat it. To me, Brian Harnois was the most enjoyable person in the series as he is a real person and real people have flaws. Brian is what made the tv show real, real people in a paranormal world.

Read Seeking Spirits first it is so much more interesting and has ghost hunting advice!!!!!
